Recent University of Cincinnati men's basketball alum Cane Broome has signed his first professional contract with the St. John's Edge of NBL Canada.
Broome played point guard for the Bearcats from 2017 to 2019 and averaged 8.3 points and 2.2 assists during his senior season.

Broome helped lead the Bearcats to two NCAA Tournament appearances and a record of 59-12 over his two seasons.
“I am extremely excited to join the Edge," Broome said in a news release. "I have heard a lot of great things about the organization, staff and the community. I cannot wait to get things started in St. John’s.”
The Edge play their home games at Mile One Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
A native of East Hartford, Connecticut, Broome played two years at Sacred Heart University before transferring to UC.
The Edge begins its season in late December.
