Per the usual for most teams in conference tournaments, they start well but end abruptly; and usually with a loss.

The No. 14 seeded Bearcats mustered a win over No. 11 South Florida in the opening round of the Big East tournament but fell to Rutgers the following night in the second round.

Senior guard Kahla Roudebush scored a game-high 22 points in the 70-44 loss Saturday, March 6 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.

The loss marks the end of head coach Jamelle Elliott's first season at UC. The Cats finished 12-18 and 4-12 in the conference landing them in 14th place in the Big East.

UC finished with three conference wins the previous two seasons under former head coach J. Kelley Hall.
