University of Cincinnati head football coach Brian Kelly was named one of three finalists for the 2009 George Munger Award for coach of the year Monday, Nov. 23.
Temple University head coach Al Golden and Texas Christian University head coach Gary Patterson were also named finalists for the award.
Kelly has a 32-6 record in his three years at Cincinnati, including a 2008 Big East Championship. Kelly is also the two-time Big East defending Big East Coach of the Year.
UC is currently ranked No. 5 in the BCS Standings and has an overall record of 10-0 and 6-0 in the Big East.
