A man in a black ski mask held a knife to the throat of a Subway employee and demanded money from the cash register at approximately 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22, according to University of Cincinnati police.
The man entered Subway through the side doors on MainStreet and had a blue nylon bag for the cash. Once the Subway employee placed the money in the bag, the suspect fled the scene, according to UCPD. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a black winter coat and a black ski mask.
"We're still investigating this," said Capt. Karen Patterson of UCPD.
UCPD is examining footage from campus cameras in attempt to identify the man, but no concrete description could be formulated.
"[The evidence] is very limited," Patterson said. "But there were some witnesses."
Police officers and Subway employees were in the restaurant throughout the evening after UCPD blocked off both entrances with crime tape.
Subway reopened Monday morning.
UCPD is currently investigating the incident. Any information on this case should be directed to UC Police Investigator David Brinker at 513-556-4889 or to Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
The News Record will continue to update this information as it becomes available.
