Democratic Justice Peter M. Sikora is hoping your vote will break the Republican stronghold on the Ohio Supreme Court. Sikora is running against current Justice Evelyn L. Stratton.
Peter M. Sikora (D):
Since 1989, Justice Peter M. Sikora has been a Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas judge in the juvenile division.
Sikora seeks to restore balance to the Ohio Supreme Court (currently, all seven justices are Republicans).
Sikora received his Bachelor of Science from Baldwin Wallace College and his juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and is president of the the Ohio Association of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
The Plain Dealer of Cleveland and the Dayton Daily News have both endorsed Sikora, along with Equality Cincinnati, the AFL-CIO and the Ohio Education Association and numerous other groups.

Evelyn L. Stratton (R):
The daughter of missionaries, Justice Evelyn L. Stratton is currently seeking re-election to the Ohio Supreme Court (she has been a justice on the court since 1996). Stratton was the first female judge to be elected to the Franklin County Common Pleas Court, and has presided over cases ranging from civil actions to capital murder trials. She has contributed to adoption law reform, and is a strong supporter of partnerships between courts and the mental health system.
Stratton received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Akron and juris doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Law. She currently lives in Worthington, Ohio.
Stratton has been endorsed by such media outlets as the Cincinnati Enquirer, Columbus Dispatch, Akron Beacon Journal and Toledo Blade.
