Power outage sweeps across campus

Power outages have been reported at the University of Cincinnati's Main Campus, according to the UC Police Division dispatch.

The outages have been happening all evening, according to UCPD dispatch.

Outages were reported in at least two residence halls, Dabney and Daniel's, and at the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning.

At approximately 11:35 p.m., the power went out in Langsam Library, said the desk staff worker at UCit@Langsam, the university's 24-hour computer lab.

As of 12:40 a.m., the cause of the outage was unknown; however, dispatch said the problem was "mostly figured out."

Street lights on Jefferson Avenue was out at approximately 10:40 p.m., according to Sam Greene, a third-year journalism student who saw the lights go out.

Other known outages:
- College-Conservatory of Music (out at approximately 8:30 p.m.)
- McMicken Hall
- College of Law
- Lights outside GeoPhysics building, Old Chemistry and Schneider Quad (out at approximately 9:30 p.m.)
