A student from the University of Cincinnati went into cardiac arrest at the Campus Recreation Center Thursday at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Paramedics, firefighters and officers responded to reports of a student who collapsed on the running track in CRC.

The student looked like he passed out on the track and CRC staff members attempted to keep bystanders away from the scene, said Jake Kight, UC student.

Medics administered CPR, but the condition of the victim is unknown, said David Freudiger, UCPD officer.

The student was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Campus Recreation Center staff members would not comment on the emergency.

The News Record will update this story.
