I definitely agree with the previous posters that Michael Jackson is the greatest in music. Even though he is gone his legacy will be forever lasting through his wonderful music. MTV, BET and VH1 were put on the map because of this special human being. The MJ legacy will live forever.

News record could you please say something in your paper about the late great Michael Jackson. He is the reason why I listened to music. He is such an inspiration to so many artists(Ne-yo, Usher, Chris Brown, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and etc) and myself. Growing up my sisters listened to Whitney Houston and U2. Michael was my favorite as a kid. I remember seeing the Motown 25 on TV and how he mesmerized everyone. His performance of Billie Jean on the Motown show was amazing. I remember the Victory Tour with him and his brothers. I did not have the chance to go but I saw previews on TV. He is big part of the success of MTV, BET and VH1 networks. He was the first black artist to have videos shown on MTV and globally no one could touched him as a artist. Michael put everything into his music for his fans. He is the greatest and I will miss his voice in the world.

I am a student at UC. I think that it would be interesting if you post an article on road rage. I have been driving for 4 yrs now and find drivers to be rude and inconsiderate. I cannot understand it this is not NYC. Could you post a story about this.

I'm currently a student at UC and I would like to write a letter to the editor. However, I'm having difficulty getting information on how to do that. I don't want to write for the newspaper, I just want to submit a letter. Who do I contact to do this?

Why aren't there more articles about the city in which the university resides? Without information about the goings on in the city of Cincinnati, we feel out of touch and isolated. Wondering if I should, instead, spend my valuable time reading the Cincinnati Enquirer.

I picked up a News Record a couple days ago and read about how the university is considering raising tuition somewhere from $108 to $1398 a year, which caused me to ponder my financial and educational future. I picked up the news record two days later to discover that they are planning to close Siddall residence hall in 09-10 and then Calhoun in 10-11. Slidell hall holds 450 students. Calhoun Hall holds 680 students. With record attendance at the university the past couple years, a full Siddall Hall at the rate of $2800 a quarter would pull in $1,260,000 or $3,780,000 for three quarters. And a full Calhoun Hall would pull in $1,904,000 or $5,712,000 for three quarters. I find it hard to believe that they can’t accomplish the more intrusive renovations and maintenance during the longer summer quarter, and maintain residency in a majority of the floors during the fall/winter/spring quarters. Even though you may have to move people up or down some floors every couple weekends, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind spending a day moving into a “brand new” room. It seems obvious that the university could use the income, and there is more than a reasonable demand with attendance increasing every year. The past 2 years the dorms have filled up in the fall and the university has resorted to recommending secondary (off campus such as UPA, Stratford Heights, McMillan Manor) housing. With a think-tank the scale of the University of Cincinnati, I don’t see why something like this cannot be accomplished.

I walked to school Thursday January 29th at 8:00 am after the winter storm, to find walkways covered in slush, the result of putting salt directly on 5 inches of snow. While sloshing my way to class I passed no fewer than five university vehicles, each with two university employees of some kind, either napping or reading the paper, like they do everyday, whether its 8:00 am, 9:00 am, or even 11:00 am after some of the longer nights, I often see these mystery men in their trucks resting up for something. With the university seemingly hurting for money lately, why are we paying all of these people to sit around idling in trucks when they could get some shovels and clear some walkways, instead of throwing down some salt and taking a nap? Narrow paths a foot or so wide were cleared on some of the campus’s many stairways, but the entire day nothing else was done. It was a remarkably slushy, slippery campus, all the while these mystery men were nowhere to be seen. I believe that there are many other things like this that should be looked at a little bit more closely before they consider raising our tuition.
