The student loan market is getting harder to navigate, thanks in part to the decision by some lenders to get out of the student loan business in addition to the growth of the alternative loan market.

Alternative loans (sometimes referred to as private loans) have risen in popularity in the last seven years and often come into play when there is a gap between educational costs and traditional financial aid.

Who should be MVP: Paul or Bryant?

Hornets' Chris Paul better pick

The NBA announced on Tuesday, May 6 that Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was the winner of the 2007-08 Most Valuable Player Award

OK, that's cool. Kobe is a phenomenal talent and is more than deserving of the honor, but this year's race for MVP is a prime example of why the winner should not be announced at least until the start of NBA Finals.

After back-to-back losing seasons, there are a lot of fans worrying about the future of the University of Cincinnati men's basketball team.

I know the losing is hard to endure, but fear not UC fans, help is on the way.

There is no question that the overall talent level of the team next year will be vastly better than it was in either of the past two seasons.

Master James Beasley reclined in a booth in Perkins Restaurant & Bakery and sipped on lemonade on a cool and lazy Sunday in April. Beasley, the instructor of the UC Martial Arts Club, sported a navy blue jacket with the Olympic logo on the sleeve.
