The Accounting Department and the College of Business at the University of Cincinnati are set to host an Occupational Fraud White-Collar Crime seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
The featured speaker, Berry J. Webne, was convicted in 1995 for embezzling more than $1 million from his employer.
His fraud spanned a period of four years and went undetected until company audits by an outside firm caught it. Webne spent six months in federal prison for his crime.
Webne now spends his time training and advising accountants, auditors and business owners on occupational fraud and white-collar crime.
The event is scheduled to be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Lindner Hall 608.
