Comedian Birbiglia visits the student center

Comedian Mike Birbiglia is scheduled for a comedy show Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Tangeman University Center's Great Hall.

Birbiglia will also be performing his comedy show at the Go Bananas Comedy Club tonight at 7 p.m.

As a young man Birbiglia was a poet, winning the "Author of the Month" in the second grade at Saint Mary's School in Shrewberry, Mass. according to his Web site.

As a freshman at Georgetown University Birbiglia performed for the D.C. Improv and began to create a show. He went to New York later where he was asked to perform on the David Letterman show. This spawned a slew of television appearances.

He has toured the country. He has also made frequent appearances on the Bob and Tom Morning Show.

Admission for Friday's show is free.
